Lasko Getaways has always prided itself on having the finest children’s programming and activities for Passover. This year will be no exception, we are here to ensure each camper is safe, happy and secure while having lots of fun!
Our Day Camp which is known to all as The Kidz Zone is once again being directed by Shana Steinmetz. Shana brings years of experience in developing fun and engaging youth programs for children of al ages. This will be Shana’s third year as the Director of our Day Camp. Shaina was previously the Youth Director at Lincoln Square Synagogue and Congregation Ohab Zedek in NYC for six years. Shana is currently the owner of Hustle & Heart Sports, a youth sports company that runs clinics, after-schools and summer programs and leagues in New York & Miami. She is currently the basketball pro at Camp Lavi, and has worked at other fine Summer Camps.
Shana will oversee a jam-packed daily schedule filled with indoor and outdoor activities as well as special entertainment. Our daily activities offer a wide variety of interests. Our basketball clinics lead by NBA veteran Michael Sweetney, A Capella singing lessons, baking and much more. We have themed carnival day with booth games and rides, glow in the dark mini golf, chesed day and other fun and interesting activities. We also feature entertainers and wonderful shows that include, Bubble show, an exotic animal show, and lots more to keep your kids entertained throughout the day.
Our day camp program is not just for your older children, we offer day care for your littlest ones whether your child is 2 years old or two months old. We feature a full day camp program for those children 10 and younger and for those older kids we have a fantastic teen program as well. We pride ourselves on having fantastic counselors and staff to give your kids the absolute best experience in a safe and fun environment.
At Lasko Getaways, our goal is to ensure the health and safety of the entire Lasko Pesach program family. Therefore, we have designed a comprehensive plan with the assistance of medical and other professionals to guide us on enacting a plan to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy.

Under the guidance of Michael Sweetney, former New York Knick professional basketball player turned basketball coach. Michael began his career at Georgetown University and was a star on and off the court. He was drafted number 9 overall in the 2003 NBA draft. After a career in the NBA, he has since coached and trained professionals and children alike. He is the current Assistant Coach of the Yeshiva University Men’s Basketball team who he helped coach to win the conference championship and to the round of 16 in the NCAA Division 3 basketball tournament last year . Since his retirement Michael has become a motivational speaker around the world telling his story of how the darkest days of his life shaped his career and who he is today.
Lasko Getaways is excited to have Michael join us for the first time guiding the basketball and sports program. Clinics will be offered to adults and kids of all ages. Michael will bring his coaching prowess to players of all skill sets and ages and help develop and motivate them, both on and off the court. With training, skill competitions and drills the Lasko Getaways sports program will ensure fun and growth for the entire family.
